Ensembles
Please know that
- All MU choral ensembles include music majors and non-majors.
- All MU ensembles are 1 hour of academic credit, which may be counted towards fulfilling degree requirements (depending on the degree).
- Academic credit for all MU ensembles is tuition free. YOU PAY NO TUITION FOR THESE ACADEMIC CREDITS! Fees are assessed but are offset on your bill by an automatic music scholarship award.
- Choral auditions for University Singers, Concert Chorale, Women's Chorale and Hitt St. Harmony will take place one week before classes in Rm 210 in the Fine Arts Building. (Please see Auditions for more information about the audition process.)
University Singers
MUS 1842:1; MWF, 12:15-1:45 p.m.; 50 members; highly selective
Traditional choral repertoire; several performances on- and off-campus each semester, annual regional tours, international touring.
Choral Union
MUS 1842:2; R, 7:00-9:00 PM; 150-200 members; non-auditioned
Major choral-orchestral works; one performance on campus each semester.
Concert Chorale
MUS 1842:4; MWF, 2:00-2:50 PM; 40 members; selective
Traditional choral repertoire; one performance on campus each semester.
Hitt Street Harmony
MUS 1842:5; TR, 1:00-1:50 PM; 12 members; highly selective
Vocal jazz repertoire; several performances on and off campus each semester.
Show-Me Opera
MUS 1865:1; MF, 3:00-5:00 PM; TWR, 4:00-6:00 PM; highly selective
Opera scenes program in the fall. Fully-staged opera with orchestra in the spring.
Women's Chorale
MUS 1842:3, TR, 12:00-12:50; selective
